Description

$4

I have recently purchased this boat in March 2017 wanting to get into sailing and learn about boat ownership, but my plans have changed, I have moved to Southern California, and for personal reasons need to sell it. This is a great little boat for a motivated buyer. I have already put a fair amount of time, money, and effort into making this vessel a turn-key beaut of a sailboat, as well as moving it to a more economically friendly marina then where I originally acquired it. She has a little bit more to go to be 100%, but I have done much of the leg work already, and it is in a really good spot for anyone looking to get into sailing. I am somewhat firm on the price being that I have put a fair amount into this boat already to get her fixed up, but would be willing to sell her to the right person for the right price. This boat is perfect for day trips in the San Pablo Bay, up the delta or even multi day trips to Sausalito or the South Bay. Again it would make for a perfect starter boat for anyone who has been meaning to get into sailing or would like a solid boat that can be enjoyed for years (however this boat is not eligible to be a live aboard in a marina, sorry). I recently had the mainsail repaired, as well as the Johnson 9.9hp Evinrude, which my mechanic has assured me will last a lifetime with yearly servicing/ maintenance. I also recently replaced the tiller and motor mount which needed to be repaired after some normal wear and tear. The boat has a swing keel which is perfect for shallow waters as it can be winched up into the hull, and you can run the boat aground, get out to explore land, and wait for the tide to come back in. It can sleep two people very comfortably and up to six people if you really needed to, but the cabin and the boat have plenty of space for two to three or even four people on a multi day trip. I had an in water survey done in April for marina applications which came back good, but for the longevity of the boat it may be wise to have it hauled out of the water cleaned, inspected, keel bolt and possibly the winch wire replaced. Otherwise the hull is sound to the best of my knowledge, and the bilges are bone dry. That said the only other things that need to be tended to to have this great little bay sailor in tip top shape are as follows: - The halyards will have to be replaced. - The boat needs to be rewired for the AM FM radio and UHF/ VHF radio to work. The rewiring can be done by a strong willed do it yourself-er willing to learn some new skills or would maybe be a 1-3 hour job for someone familiar with marine electrical work. The halyards can be replaced by sewing new lines to the old ones and pulling them through the top of the mast, which I was planning on doing, but unfortunately plans sometimes change. Items included with the boat: 1988 9.9 horsepower Evinrude outboard serviced in June and runs great Mainsail (repaired over the summer), Jib, genoa, and spinnaker sails all in good condition Handheld waterproof uhf/ vhf rechargeable radio Life vests for four adults and three kids Gas operated bbq Two six gallon gas cans with (1) fuel line attachment One two gallon gas tank One three gallon gas tank for refueling or mixing The current slip the boat is in is transferable once the title and insurance is in your name. The slip fees are $144 a month with two overnight stays allowed per week. The Marina is walking distance to beautiful downtown Martinez, parks, and an Amtrak train station which allows car free access to all that San Francisco has to offer as well as most coastal California locations. This boat is being sold as is where is. Being that I am in Southern California and will have to travel to the Bay Area to show the boat, I am looking for serious buyers only. I will be happy to show a copy of the marine survey to buyers viewing the boat. A sea trial will only be done for someone looking to purchase the boat wanting to confirm it is in good working order only after a 10% deposit is made, and before the official transfer of ownership. Please feel free to email me with any questions, or if you are interested in seeing the boat. Serious inquiries only, thank you for reading this, I look forward to your interest in this cool little boat, and hoping to sell it to someone who well get a lot of use out of it.
